Troop 8859 Application (2026-2027)

$10.00

This application is used to evaluate prospective families for participation in Troop 8859. It outlines key expectations related to mission, time commitment, and participation to ensure a strong fit and a healthy troop culture. Enrollment is limited and subject to review.

Children must be age 5+ by Sept. 2026.
All children are welcome, but Legacy students receive priority enrollment.
A father’s involvement is encouraged but not required. We understand that family circumstances vary, and we take special care to ensure boys whose fathers are not present receive appropriate support, mentoring, and supervision.
Primary volunteer roles include Trail Guides (leading a small group), Rotation Leader (leading large group activities), and Setup/Teardown. Check all that apply.
If your family does not regularly attend church, please write "N/A." Church attendance is not required for participation.
Troop 8859 is built on consistency, commitment, and shared expectations. We ask families to review these questions carefully to ensure alignment before applying.
Troop 8859 meetings include Bible-based prayer, worship, and teaching. All participants are expected to be respectful and supportive of the program's faith component, as our primary goal is to lead boys and men closer to Jesus through mentorship and discipleship.
Our troop meets only twice per month so that families can prioritize troop meetings, even when they conflict with other activities (e.g., sports practices). A small number of weekend events are also central to the program, and missing these makes it difficult for boys to connect and succeed in the Troop.
Our program runs from late August through early June, and consistency across the year is essential to building a healthy and connected troop. Families are financially responsible for 2026–2027 dues for the full program year ($250), even if participation ends before the year concludes.
Our fees are competitive with other youth activities (e.g., sports teams), and we believe the investment is worthwhile. We also recognize that families’ financial situations vary, and we strive to offer assistance when needed for families who are committed to the Troop. Please indicate whether either of the following apply to your family:
What are your goals for your child(ren) and family? How will your family contribute to the culture, consistency, and mission of the Troop? (Please be thoughtful in your response.)
